Collect Reviews, Display Social Proof

February 6, 2026

One of the most underrated uses of email is collecting reviews and then actually using them properly.

Across multiple clients, this has been one of the simplest ways to add trust without changing the product or the offer.

How reviews usually start

It begins with email doing the unglamorous work.

Post-purchase flows that ask for a review at the right time, followed by a reminder if someone doesn't respond.

Sometimes that's through Klaviyo reviews, sometimes a short survey — the tool matters less than the timing.

Where email does the real work

Once those reviews come in, that's where email becomes a showcase.

We've sent campaigns that highlight five-star reviews with real customer names, specific product feedback, and simple star ratings. Things like "super soft," "fits perfectly," or "exactly what I was looking for." Not marketing copy — just real language from real customers.

For one brand, we focused entirely on reviews from anglers talking about performance. For another, we showcased local customers to reinforce community trust. And in other cases, we've used customer photos pulled from Instagram to show the product in the real world.

Why this matters

Reviews aren't just for your product page.

Email lets you turn them into social proof at scale, without feeling promotional.

When done right, it doesn't feel like marketing. It feels informative.
